About Me
Who I Am
I am Kenneth “MiNalien” Murray, an independent game, web, and software developer.
What I Do
I have been programming for about nine years, and have experience with several game, web, and software development technologies, such as Microsoft’s .NET Framework, Direct3D, the XNA Framework, several of GarageGames Torque products (Torque Game Engine, Torque Game Builder, Torque X, Torque 3D), PHP 5, MySQL, and several others. While most of my work has been on internal tools and experiments with projects related to both game and software applications, I am currently working on several projects which I intend to have reach public eye.
Experience
I have experience in several programming languages, though I am most familiar with C++ and C#. I have been developing for approximately nine years, and have a natural affinity for learning new development languages, of which I prefer languages with a C-style syntax.
I also have experience working with several media libraries within C++ and C#, including Microsoft’s XNA Framework, DirectX (specifically, Direct3D 9 and DirectInput, though I am currently working on projects utilizing Direct2D, Direct3D 10, Direct3D 11, and DirectWrite), SDL, Windows Presentation Foundation, Silverlight, and several other game libraries.
As well as Games and Software, I do web development in PHP and ASP.NET, and offer cheap web hosting plans run from this site (minalien.com). While I prefer to do web development using C# and ASP.NET, I use a large number of PHP-based systems, such as WordPress, Simple Machines Forums, Invision Power Board, PHP-Fusion, e107, and know my way around creating plugins and themes for said systems, though my skill in design is much less developed than is my skill in development. I have experience with Silverlight technologies and ASP.NET MVC Framework (both version 1 and the beta copy of version 2), and am familiar with SQL-based databases, such as MySQL, MSSQL, and SQLite3.
What I Do
Almost all of my interests and activities are related to programming. As a freelance programmer, I offer commissioned programming services in the areas mentioned above. I also release several tutorials related to various forms of technology regularly, covering a range of topics. As of the start of this blog, all further tutorials will be released and available here.
